NotebookLM
A research and consolidation tool that is especially useful to interrogate multiple documents to gather specific insights and overall summaries. The podcast feature is especially useful to have as a way to digest information on the go.
The best way to describe it is as an AI tool built around source material.Instead of starting with a blank prompt, it works from inputs you give it from website links, videos and even physical documents like PDFs.
Data consolidation.I use it when I want to understand multiple sources of material easily and quickly and pull out the key points or summary. One critical use case is turning the summary into a podcast to listen to when on the go.This has been invaluable in keeping up to date without spending hours reading detailed documents.
It works well for research, information synthesis and anything that benefits from staying within actual reference material rather than a general answer. The audio summary remains it’s core superpower and one I would heartily recommend - in my opinion, it’s Google’s best AI tool.
It won’t replace general chat like Claude or ChatGPT.It’s strength comes from the information you give it, so requires more up front work and access to the right information. If those are behind a paywall, then it can’t access them.
Anyone who spends time reviewing documents, reports, notes and source-heavy material and want help making sense of it more quickly.I used it to consolidate all the inputs on Etsy optimisation to build the custom prompt within Polsia.
NotebookLM is one of the most useful products you can try, and my recommendation is this is on where the power is trying it hands-on.It gives a different kind of confidence from general chat as it builds a stronger grounding by using the material you are working from to provide the recommendations.
